dual-attached station

   Abbreviated DAS. In the Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI), a device attached to both of the dual, counter-rotating rings. Concentrators, bridges, and routers often use DAS connections to provide fault tolerance. In contrast, a single attached station (SAS) connects to only one ring.
